The annual meeting of the CARE for Children Board of Directors was held Friday, December 6th at the Pennhills Club in Bradford.
Leslie Kallenborn, Development and Marketing Coordinator, welcomed the board members and staff in attendance and provided an overview of CARE’s 100th anniversary celebration of ‘Shaping Childhoods since 1924.’
Board President, Tyler R. Hannah, provided a review of CARE’s 2023-2024 fiscal year and highlighted the organization’s continued growth, steady increase in philanthropic support, start of an ambitious 5- year strategic plan, change of venue for the annual golf tournament, and the start of CARE’s 100th year of helping local children as they grow.
Hannah noted, "CARE’s continued success can be attributed to the donors who generously give financial support, the volunteers and supporters who contribute their time and talent, and the board of directors whose foresight and leadership have ensured the organization operates sustainably and with integrity, transparency and dedication to the children and families we serve.”
“Another essential component are the employees at CARE for Children who are on the ground ensuring that the organization meets its mission. And finally, and most importantly, are the families who allow our organization to be part of their children’s lives. For 100 years, the children who receive CARE services have been a tangible reminder, that there is real hope in the world,” Hannah concluded.
The CARE Board also honored three employees who have reached milestone years of service at the organization. Tina Martin, executive director, recognized staff members Kimberly Miller, OTR/L, occupational therapist, 15 years; Kylie DiFonzo, M.S., CCC-SLP, speech/language pathologist, 10 years; and Carrie Roberts, preschool aide, 5 years.
