CARE for Children is hosting training on Infant Mental Health on Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at the University of Pittsburgh Bradford, Mukaiyama University Room.
Topics for the training will include: the lifespan impact of infant mental health, trauma-sensitive and responsive care of young children and how to work with challenging behaviors, as well as culturally-sensitive practices.
Upon completion of the training, participants will be more readily able to understand and respond to the developmentally-informed relational needs of young children and their families. They will gain further understanding of why “trauma” is relevant to their work, have built awareness of trauma symptoms of young children, and know how to better develop a relationship-based understanding of how to respond to young children’s trauma expressions.
Attendees will also learn to build an evidence-based understanding of challenging behaviors and to fine tune responses to the challenging behaviors of young children in their programs and on their caseload.
